Kristina Trusty, Executive Director

Kristina is the Executive Directory of the Fueled For School board. She is a native Hoosier with degrees from both Ball State and Indiana University. As a veteran teacher and seasoned child advocate, she knows what it is like to look into the face of a hungry child. Inspired by a volunteer opportunity at the local food bank, coupled with a need in the community, Fueled For School was born. This busy mom of four can be found making meal packs, teaching elementary school or running a small, local business.

Audra Shock, Director of Operations

Audra resides in Noblesville with her husband and three children. She has a background in social work and currently works for Noblesville Schools as an Instructional Assistant.

In 2012, Audra’s dad asked her to help set up social media for the local food bank. Soon, she found herself sorting cans, going on shopping trips, picking up donated produce, and serving on the Food Bank Board of Directors with her dad. She learned while volunteering that 1 in 11 people in Hamilton County, Indiana are food insecure. She was amazed at the network of people in Hamilton County working together to end hunger. She became determined to do what she could to help in those efforts.

Audra loves working with children and knows first hand that they learn best when they are not hungry.

She is involved with the day-to-day operations, volunteer coordination and packing events for Fueled for School, as well as social media and promotion.

In her spare time Sharin enjoys watching sports, especially the DePauw women’s soccer team. She is an avid baker and loves to share her creations with friends and coworkers.

Sharin’s love of children and food found a perfect marriage when her dear friend, Kristina Trusty, organized a group of Hinkle Creek Elementary School employees to fill weekend meal packs for children with food insecurities. She is honored to serve as Vice President of Fueled for School.

Sarah Brechbill, Director of Transportation

Years back, Sarah’s family of four made a pact to donate time and money to help the hungry. This has taken many forms. From The Little Sisters of the Poor to Wheeler Mission to St. Vincent de Paul, the Brechbills help wherever they can in an attempt end food insecurity.

The Brechbills echo the popular Snickers commercials — You are NOT yourself when you are hungry. Sarah has witnessed firsthand children worried about what they would eat over the weekend and felt called to organize a sustainable solution. She believes that full bellies enable better learning which leads to academic success.
